About Us

We are an international, interdisciplinary team powering the next generation of advances for AI and pathology.

Our Beginnings

Aignostics started in 2018 within the walls of Charité Berlin and the Berlin Institute of Health, based on years of research conducted across Charité, TU Berlin and Fraunhofer HHI.

We spun out of Charité in 2020. From our offices in Berlin and New York, we now serve biopharma, clinical laboratories, and academic researchers.

A message from our founders

Every tissue slide holds more biological information than a pathologist has capacity to measure by eye. As cancer cases rise and the number of pathologists does not, more of that information goes unused.

We started Aignostics to change that. Frederick, a pathologist, and Klaus, a machine learning researcher, spent years at Charité testing whether AI could make tissue analysis more complete and reproducible. In 2019, Viktor and Max joined them to build a company around that work.

Today we work with pharma partners, clinicians, and researchers to bring that work from discovery into the clinic. One principle guides all of it: our models show their work, and pathologists have the final say.

Join us in building the future of pathology.

See what our team has to say

"Our team brings together individuals from vastly different scientific backgrounds, creating a uniquely collaborative environment where computational expertise meets deep biological understanding."

Timo Haschler
Senior Scientific Program Manager

"At Aignostics, there's a vibrant culture of people with different training, backgrounds from various countries, diverse upbringings, cultures, professions, and specialties. This creates a melting pot that I find genuinely fulfilling. "

Dr. Julika Ribbat-Idel
Principal Pathologist

"What I value most about my current role is its interdisciplinary nature. It offers a unique opportunity to expand my knowledge in both pathology and machine learning, which complements and enhances my existing biomedical expertise."

Srishti Munjal Mehta
Scientific Program Manager

"There are plenty of jobs around the world where you can do interesting technical work, but this feeling that I have at the end of the day where I know what I worked on will contribute towards a good cause is my favorite part of this job."

Neelay Shah
Machine Learning Engineer

"My favorite part about working at Aignostics is getting to talk to very smart individuals who are also really down to earth and have a common mission for the common good."

Kwadjo Nyante, EMBA, MSc², CISSP
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

"At Aignostics, people are really excited about the work we do and they're generally excited to tackle issues or challenges together. Even though you're working on a big complex problem, it's exciting to be able to sit down and figure out how you're going to solve it together."

Natalie Batty
Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist

"It's important to me to have a meaningful mission, so I know why I come to work. I also love having challenging computational problems where solutions are not always clear from the start and you have to navigate different trade-offs."

Jonathan Streibel
Senior Machine Learning Software Engineer
